Top 10 WordPress Plugins - MWM

WordPress is one of the most popular website building services online hands down. According to a survey published by Netcraft, there's around 170 million websites out there. 75 million of those are made by WordPress. That's how popular it is. One of the benefits of WordPress are its 54,000+ plugins that help you customise your website how you want it.

So having the right WordPress Plugins can shoot your online business right into the stars. Granted, researching the 54,000 plugins when you're building your site is a sure way to spend all of your time making no progress. If you spent half an hour looking at each one, you'd spend 1125 days, or a little over 3 years before you'd researched them all. We want to simplify that for you, so here's 20 amazing plugins for WordPress to help you build your WordPress Website.

For our list we've looked at plugins for Mailing lists, Lead Conversion, SEO, Content Optimisation, Security, Site Speed and Drag and Drop tools.

1. WPForms

If you want that mad email database of your customers and leads to market towards or for re-targeting, you'll need a way to bring the data in. The most common and probably the easiest method is using a contact form on your site. For that, there's WPForms. It's said that WPForms is one of the most user friendly plugins for contact forms on WordPress.

It basically works as a drag and drop form builder that lets you create a range of forms. There's forms for Contacts, Email Subs, online orders, payments, surveys and polls...

Basically any form you have in your head, you can probably make it with WPForms.

It integrates with popular marketing and payment platforms so you're ready to take money in minutes. It boasts 2 million+ users who've installed it on their websites and sees consistently high ratings, sticking at around 4.9 stars out of 5 for the past few years.

They offer a paid version which comes with amazing extras that you need to boost lead generation but there's also WPForms Lite, which is free!

As a business owner, we cant tell you how important email marketing is. it lets you stay in touch with your users after they;'ve left your site and don't require social media to work. This is why we recommend building an email list ASAP.

Constant contact is one of the more popular email marketing tools on Wordpress. It lets you build email lists and send amazing newsletters to your subscribers. It's quick, it's easy and it's perfect for the non tech-savvy users out there. it also works well with Optin Monster and WPForms that we mentioned earlier too!

3. OptinMonster

Brilliant for conversion rate optimization, it lets you target website visitors that are bouncing out of your site and converts them into email subscribers. It comes with pre-made high quality forms ready to go, or you can start from scratch. You can personalise campaigns for each user and show the right message at the right time.

4. MemberPress and LearnDash

Create subscriptions and section off content for certain people with MemberPress. This plugin lets you build online communities through your site and lets people buy memberships for certain content, brilliant for bloggers and online content creators!

Sucuri protects your site from DDoS attacks, malware threats, XSS attacks, Brute Force attacks and basically, just any attack someone with bad vibes can give to your website. It wont generate email database or help with your targeted facebook ads, but it'll help your peace of mind. Hindsight is 20/20 but if you get a firewall thrown into your site early, you won't need it.

8. Updraft Plus

Creating a backup for your WordPress site and its posts is a definite must, however if you've got too many backups and drafts it's gonna make the site slow down a bit. Take a look at our SEO blog post and you'll see that's a no go.

Cue UpdraftPlus. Obviously it's a WordPress plugin, and it allows you to automate your backups and store them remotely instead. You can throw your backups away from your site to keep it funky fresh, and store them all in places like Google Drive, Dropbox, Email and a bunch more.

Also, it's ridiculously easy to restore your back ups too! the basic package is free, but they've got a paid option too with a few extra features and priority support.

9. WP Rocket

WP Rocket, or WordPress Rocket, is a caching plugin that lets you instantly improve website load times which is a massive plus for your business as even a 1 second delay in load speed can start to get potential leads clicking out of your site.

It automatically switches settings to make load times more optimised. Things like Page Cache, Cache Preloading and gzip compression. You've also got other features like lazy loading images, CDN support, DNS Pre-fetching and even optimises your images through Imagify. It lowers the file size of images while maintaining the web-friendly resolutions, so that they load quicker!

The only down side is that it's paid only. If you're wanting to lower your image file sizes though, there's always Yahoo's smush.it!

10. SEMRush

Last, but definitely not least, is SEMRush. It's kind of like a swiss army knife for marketing. So what this plugin gives you is tools to improve SEO, strategies for Paid Traffic, tips for social media, the content for it and even PR Strategies. It'll also give you ways of competing with your competitors so you can outrank them and take over.

You can do Keyword Research, Backlink Audits, spy on your competitors, find high performance posts on social media, give you ad strategies and so many more. Seriously, it's ridiculous. If you're going to choose anything from our list, go with SEMRush.
